Michael Glenwood Gibbs is a freelance illustrator who works in the Washington DC area.
Michael's style has evolved from traditional painting to a unique blend of traditional and digital techniques, and more recently purely digital illustration.
His work has appeared in hundreds of magazines and newspapers, as well as on book covers and posters.
He has received recognition from the Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts, Society of Illustrator of LA, 3x3 Illustration Annual, Print, American Illustration, Spectrum Annual of Science Fiction/Fantasy Illustration Gold Medal and others.
He is a member of the Illustrators Club of Washington, and serves on its Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Illustrators Partnership of America and the Art Directors Club of Washington.
In addition to the Society of Illustrators gallery in New York, his work has been exhibited at the University of Maryland, James Madison University, Montgomery College, the Sumner School Museum, the Corcoran Museum of Art, and Billy Shire Fine Arts in Los Angeles.
Recently, Michael has been making handmade books, whose contents consist of his own words, photographs and drawings.
